Here are a few Tips and Tricks for FF7 that I thought would help you out on the game: Item Duplication Find the "W-Item" when you go back into Midgar at the end of the second CD, once you do this, equip it on one of your party members. When you do this, walk around until you are in a battle, then when it is the person with the W-Item's turn, use one item(any item), than use the same item again, when you are at the part of picking the character to use the item on, push "X" and back into the item part, you will then have 1 more of that item, now just keep pushing "O" and "X" until you are at 99 of that item. Getting a Gold Chocobo Get a mountain(green Chocobo) or River(Blue Chocobo) Chocobo's by mating a Great or a good chocobo using the carob nut(you can only get the Carob Nut from a battle with Vlakorados, a monster you can fight just outside of the Chocobo Sage's house, which is in the Northern Continent in the mountains somewhere). For a better chance of getting one of these Chocobo's, race each of them until they're at the "S" class in the Gold Saucer chocobo racing, same with getting the black and gold chocobo's, too. To get the Black Chocobo, mate the River and mountain Chocobo's with the Carob Nut, you will have a better chance of getting a black Chocobo if you train the Mountain and River chocobo's really good. Now you must mate a Black Chocobo with a Wonderful Chocobo and feed them a Zeio Nut, you can only find this nut in the small island northeast of the Chocobo Ranch, you will fight Goblin's in the woods, try to steal the Zeio nuts from them. After this, you will have the magnificent "Gold Chocobo". Quicker way to beat Emerald Weapon *this is only in American version of the game* Find the "Guide Book" which is located in the Underwater Reactor, find it and head to Kalm and go to the top floor of the rightmost house, this man will be looking for 3 things, but give him the Guide Book(one thing he's looking for)and he will give you the "Underwater" Materia, which is used to get rid of the 20 minute time limit you would normally have when fighting the Emerald Weapon. Now you can find the "Knights of the Round" Materia by getting the Gold Chocobo and heading to an island in the northeast part of the map. Then get the W-summon in The Crater so you can use the "Knight's of the Round" Materia twice in one turn. Equip someone with any level "Demi" magic. Now head underwater in the submarine and you will find the Emerald Weapon floating around at the bottom of the ocean, run into him to start the battle. Use the Knights of the Round Materia with the W-Summon to use it twice each turn, and use that Demi magic to hit it by 9999 each turn. The Weapon can hit you by like 7000 points of damage on one guy if he feels like it, so watch out. Using these, it should be easier and quicker to kill the guy though. Flashback After you go through that part with CLoud and Tifa after falling through the ground into the Lifestream after fighting Ultimate WEAPON for the first time, go to the Shinra Mansion in Nibelheim and through that secret passage that you found in the first flashback with Cloud and Sephiroth when you get to Kalm at the beginning of the game. When you enter the library, you will see a flashback that explains how Cloud ended up back in Midgar with Zack's sword(the buster sword)and decided to become a mercenary. Free Stuff The general store in Cosmo Canyon has a back room that you can't get to because a rope is blocking the way, come back here again later on in the game and the rope has been removed, now you can go into the back room, it has an Elixir, Magic Source, and the "Full Cure" Materia.
