Final Fantasy 7
Fantasy 7 is about a rebel group called "AVALANCHE" who are trying to save the planet by stopping Shinra, an organization that is sucking the energy out of the planet. When they try this, they succeed at blowing up the Sector 5 Reactor like they planned with the help of "Cloud Strife" who is just there for money(he is also the main character). When they destroy the Reactor, they kill many people in the process. After they go through a lot, Cloud finds this girl named Aeris who get's kidnapped and take to the Shinra building, after Cloud, Barret and Tifa go in and successfully save Aeris, they find out that "Sephiroth", a person from Cloud's past that was supposedly killed 5 years before all this happened. He is back and looking for the Promised Land, a land of Mako, but he has other intentions as well which you will find out later in the game. After all that stuff, you head out of Midgar(the place you are in at beginning of the game)in search of Sephiroth to stop him and save the planet.(You are playing Cloud through everything I just said)

You will meet many people on this Adventure, a few of which will join you, like Cid, Vincent, Cait Sith, Yuffie and Red XII. You also use Materia instead of actual magic like in FF3 or FF2, but it is basically the same thing, you just equip the Materia in the slots of your weapon and Armor, and you can use that magic, the Materia go up levels and get stronger, and when they go up the level that they become mastered, they will make another one, like if you master lightning, on that last level up, it will say "Lightning is born" and you will have a second Lightning Materia but only at level 1. This also happens with Summon Materia. During the game you get Different Weapons and Armor, which you either find in caves or wherever, or buy from the shops in the towns(you will get more weapons than Armor), you can also get accessories which help protect you from things or so other things. There are also Limit Breaks that you learn during the Adventure, they do a lot of damage on the enemies, especially Cloud's "Omnislash" which can do almost as much damage as the Knights of the Round Materia.
